  • Jan. 9, 2023, 7 p.m.Richard Hill presented “Medical Practices of the Colonial Period.” Program includes selections from his extensive collection of antique medical tools.

  • Feb. 13, 2023, 7 p.m.—Speakers Diana Daniels and Emma Woodruff present “The History of Lick Creek Settlement in Orange County.”

  • March 13, 2023, 7 p.m.—Speaker Jeff Routh presented Gallactic Gathering past and present.

  • April 10, 2023, 7 p.m.John Hattabaugh presented a program about his “Travels in 36 Countries…and Counting.”

  • May 8, 2023, 7 p.m.—Marla Jones, “Turning Back the Pages of Time: A Look at Lawrence County History.”

  • June 12, 2023, 7 p.m.—Jan Aikman Dickson, “Pioneer research tools and the Society of Indiana Pioneers.”

  • July 10, 2023, 7 p.m.—Michael J. Brown, Executive Director of the Indiana Jewish Historical Society, “History of Jewish Communities in Indiana.” Mr. Brown was not able to come to Bedford, so his program has been recorded. After program viewing, audience questions will be conveyed to Mr. Brown.

  • Aug. 14, 2023, 7 p.m.—Allison Duerk, Director of the Eugene V. Debs Museum. The topic was union leader, Eugene V. Debs and his museum, which is located in Terre Haute in the historic house which Debs purchased in the late 1800s.

  • Sept. 11, 2023 membership meeting cancelled due to necessary HVAC work to be done at the museum on that day.

  • Oct. 9, 2023, 7 p.m. —Dr. Deborah Craton, spoke on “The History of Dunn Hospital, 1903-1964.”

  • Nov. 13, 2023, 7 p.m.—Speaker Ken Hackney presented “The History of Golf in Bedford.” If you missed it, you can see it on the museum’s yotube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@lawrencecountymuseumofhist8440

  • Dec. 11, 2023, 5 p.m.—Volunteer appreciation dinner
    No Speaker’s program in December. The museum takes this evening as an opportunity to honor all the 2022-2023 volunteers.
