The museum is housed in the 100 year old Hamer-Smith building at 929 15th Street in Bedford, Indiana. You can read about this historic building under the "About Us" menu item. The Lawrence County Museum of History is home to many interesting artifacts that showcase the history and heritage of Lawrence County. Most of these are housed in the 2400sq ft gallery. You will find the gallery cases arranged thematically with collections focusing on military history, antique clothing, school history, and many other topics. Please use the navigation menu on the left to view pictures of the gallery and other museum collections.
To access the museum, you can park in the large parking lot at the north entrance. The museum is handicap accessible at the north enterance and there is spacious elevator and a staircase to reach the second floor library.
The museum also has an 870sq ft meeting room available to the community for rental. The carpeted room offers a kitchenette, folding tables and chairs to seat 48, a television with DVD/VCR capabilities, and a podium.
